Your Opportunity:

The Analyst position for Trauma Care Alberta (TCA) is a professional role within Acute Care Alberta, supporting the adoption of evidence-based, data-driven best practice care for pediatric and adult trauma patients across Alberta. The role is accountable for identifying trauma populations, managing and analyzing data within the Alberta Trauma Registry, and producing accurate, reliable information to support reporting, quality improvement, and decision-making. The Analyst independently reviews Emergency Department data to identify patients meeting major trauma criteria and ensures the quality, integrity, and completeness of data entered into the registry. The role applies knowledge of the trauma data set and the Alberta Trauma System to generate standard and ad hoc reports (e.g., TQIP, site-based reporting, research requests), and supports the interpretation of data to inform clinical, operational, and program needs. Working with minimal supervision, the Analyst collaborates with internal team members and clinical stakeholders to define data requirements, validate information, and tailor outputs to different audiences. The position contributes to data quality and reporting improvement initiatives, supports project work and program planning activities, and provides reliable data and analysis to support decision-making across the trauma system.

Description:

As a Health Information Management Professional I, you will be responsible for coding and abstracting data from clinical records, release of information and/or data quality assurance. In accordance with organizational procedures and the Health Information Act, you will gather, retrieve, collate, code, design, analyze, interpret clinical and demographic data and perform statistical reporting and regular data quality reviews for patient records.
