Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years adult mental health experience within the past 5 years. Experience working with individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness. Knowledge of the Addiction & Mental Health Care Continuum, including flow and capacity. Knowledge of housing resources and barriers to mental health housing. Knowledge of Mental Health Legislation, especially Community Treatment Orders. Knowledge of AMH philosophies and initiatives – Recovery Model, Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction, LOCUS, Collaborative Problem Solving, etc. Experience in conducting psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and crisis intervention. Experience working in partnership with non-AHS and non-profit community agencies. Self-motivated with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated responsible decision-making through the application of knowledge, critical thinking and sound legal and ethical judgment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in demanding and dynamic conditions. Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills. Knowledge and adherence to AHS policies, procedures and code of conduct. Experience with MS Office Suite, Outlook, Connect Care, Netcare, HoNOS and STRATA.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working within an Addiction Recovery program. Addiction and Mental Health case management experience. Experience working in community mental health outreach.
