As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and Recovery Alberta policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a correctional environment, an acute care facility or psychiatric program. Able to meet physical demands such as prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or transferring patients. Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently and using sound professional judgment. Must be able to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Must have the ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating priorities and workload. Must have excellent assessment, critical thinking, organization and patient care skills. Experience working with high risk, vulnerable or marginalized youth populations is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given for experience working with youth or adolescents within community or acute care settings.
