Completion of a master's degree in psychology; a bachelor's degree in social work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention; a master's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy with similar educational components; a bachelor's degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling; or a bachelor's degree in psychiatric nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Full Registration with respective regulatory College under the Health Professions Act. Applicants registered with ACSW must have authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a vehicle in good working order for work related travel. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience with mental health assessment. Knowledge and experience treating individuals experiencing addiction (substance and/or process).
Preferred Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset.
