Registered Nurse
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the manager of the Neurmodulation Department at Peter Lougheed Center, the position will support patients through ECT, RTMS and ketamine treatment from assessment to recovery. The RN/RPN will provide safe professional nursing care for patients receiving ECT, RTMS and Ketamine under the standards as defined CRNA/CRPNA. The position will function in a multidisciplinary team and deliver care based on sound clinical assessment and professional judgment. The position will utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills to provide care to patient under the Neuromodulation department. The position will adhere to their respective Professional Practice Standards and Code of Ethics of Recovery Alberta.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:1-3 year experience in supporting supports during ECT treatment and recovery process Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques is required. A working knowledge of psychotropic medications is also required. Experience in AMH assessment tools, including but not limited to the Mental Status Examination, is expected, as well as experience in various risk assessments, i.e., suicide risk, homicidal risk, and violent risk. Certification in IV push medication administration Within the last 5 years, 1-3 years proven skills and experience in psychiatric, medical assessment and crisis intervention. Recent nursing experience in an acute in-patient psychiatric setting is preferred.
