Registered Psychiatric Nurse
Your Opportunity:
As a member of the Edmonton Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic (EEPIC) as part of the Young Adult Services portfolio in the Edmonton Zone, you will be working with a dynamic interdisciplinary team that is passionate about supporting young people during their first episode of psychosis, while providing services that make a difference in the lives of young adults and their families. As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) on EEPIC you will be responsible for two key roles: Assertive Case management and nursing specific interventions. You will engage clients, assess, support skill development, set collaborative goals, and provide interventions related to the transition domains of employment & career, living situation, educational opportunities, community life functioning, and personal effectiveness & wellbeing. You will support clients to achieve their highest level of community functioning with the least ongoing professional supports. You will provide quality, client focused, culturally appropriate, community and outreach services and are responsible for supporting individuals and their families who require routine and at times, urgent care. You are responsible for bringing a holistic approach to comprehensive assessment, intervention and evaluation that maintains the uniqueness of each individual within a wellness-oriented transitional service delivery model that will help transition young people as they move towards becoming independent adults. In this role you will see clients in clinic and community settings, virtually, by phone, and/or in person. You will help treatment planning by acting as a link connecting the client and their families to appropriate internal and external community resources/referral pathways based upon individual needs.

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years’ experience in a community mental health and addictions care setting providing assertive outreach case management. Experience providing crisis/urgent supports in a community setting as well as working alongside community partners.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with addiction and mental health therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
