Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent experience in Addictions and Mental Health. Health Care Aide Certificate and Mental Health First Aid Certificate. Sound observation and strong verbal communication skills. Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in an Acute Psychiatry setting. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily schedule and patient needs. Working knowledge of patient and family-centered care principles is important.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of the CoACT model of care. Working knowledge of trauma informed care.
