Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years of recent experience in the addiction and mental health field. Community outreach and crisis intervention experience. Knowledge of mental health/mental illness across populations and mental health diagnoses. Knowledge of addiction treatment and recovery across populations. Knowledge of the mental health system and resources within Recovery Alberta. Strong assessment and intervention skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the continuum of services is essential. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships is essential. Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities required. Ability to thoroughly and accurately collect and document information in a timely manner is required. Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Information Act and CTO legislation. Non-violent crisis intervention. Valid driver's license. Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of the criminal justice system/arrest and detention processes. Working knowledge and practical experience working within Forensic and/or Correctional systems. Solid understanding of correctional facilities and populations served.
