The Step Up Step Down program is looking to mentor and support a UNE who is eligible for work experience and licensing through UNA. Step Up Step down (SUSD) is a voluntary mental health and addiction treatment program for youth ages 13-17. SUSD is comprised of a live-in program and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Description:

An Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) position provides an opportunity for a UNE to develop further competency in the range and complexity of Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) practice. The nursing activities performed and level of supervision required is determined by legislation, standards of supervision outlined by professional associations, Recovery Alberta and competency of the UNE. You will be guided by your education, experience and demonstrated skill level to play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

Current enrolment in an approved Alberta nursing education program leading to initial entry to practice as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse. Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate. Successful completion of 3rd year of an RN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RN education program; or currently in the final year of an after-degree RN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RN education program; or successful completion of 2nd year of an RPN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RPN education program.
